Today is the big day!  Thanks to the design brilliance of Jimmy Guy at SpaceRace, I have a brand new photo website that brings my digital footprint under one virtual roof.  Welcome to vagabondphotography.ca!

You will see that Jimmy pretty much captured me in this new design; both my love of all things vintage, the camera, and rustic, the barn board siding and the burlap social media tabs down the left side.  It is me to a T!  Thanks Jimmy!

You will find my weekly blog and it’s back issues archived around the lens in the vintage camera, as well as my gallery site.  Down the left side you will find the various social media sites where I share my photo adventure stories, from Twitter, to Vagabond Photography on Facebook, Flickr and my “daily” photo blog on Tumblr.  In the last tab under the funky Poleroid camera icon, is Instagram.  Here you will find all my retro on-the-fly snaps I take with my new groovy gadget du jour, the iPhone.  Just think of vagabondphotography.ca as home base.

To celebrate the launch of this new site and to say a big Thank You to each of you for following me on my many photographic adventures, I have created a free holiday snap gallery for you to plunder to your heart’s desire.  If you are like me and find the time between “it’s WAY too early to see Christmas commercials” and “why have I left doing Christmas cards this late?” to be frighteningly short, the “Thank You” gallery is for you.  Scroll up to the top of this page, find the camera lens, and click on “Gallery.” In this gallery you will find an assortment of holiday-like snaps I’ve taken on the road the past few years, including the old barn shot featured above.  You can download these if you wish (scroll over the photo you like and click on the folder icon to save the photo to your computer) and print them if you are the creative type and want to make your own cards. OR…if you are running short of time and $, like me, why don’t you download the snaps you like, and use them to create your own holiday e-cards?  I used my favourite site, Picnik to create most of the holiday shots in this gallery.  You can attach any of these shots as is to an e-mail, or you can get creative and personalize your own.  I have included all the photos without lettering to help in this process.  Simply click on this Picnik link, register for a free account, upload any of my snaps and use the cool personalization tools down the left side to add lettering, borders, snow…you name it, you can do it.  You can also upload a series of photos and then create a holiday collage using their collage tool.  From Picnik you can then send your creation to as many as 100 e-mail addresses right from the website, or share with your friends and followers on your favourite social network.

For anyone out there with an iPhone, I also cannot help but recommend a fun app I discovered yesterday.  Check out this cheeky photo in my gallery, and if you want to “Grinchify” any of your holiday snaps to share on Facebook, try the Grinch Cam app.  Max the dog and Cindy-Lou Who await your creativity!  I also tried out the iPhone scrap-booking app called Scrap It to create this e-card.  Again, you can use any of my holiday shots or snap your own to create and then share your e-card with friends and family.

Welcome to vagabondphotography.ca and thanks for visiting my new home!  From my home to yours, Happy Holidays!
