It’s hard to believe that a week ago today I was jetting about New York City on one of my best days EVER! After a long wet and somewhat dreary week thanks to Tropical Storm Nicole, good ole NY really did seem like Gotham City. But my last day away dawned bright and beautiful so I made the most of my time. Using the wonderful Hop On, Hop Off double decker bus from Grey Line as my vehicle of discovery, I packed in a full day of iconic NY sites. I jetted to the top of The Empire State Building, walked the beautifully tree-lined narrow streets of Greenwich Village, was humbled by a walking tour of Ground Zero, walked across a very busy Brooklyn Bridge, took the Staten Island Ferry there and back again, walked the southern end of a Central Park bathed in late day sun, and finished my day at the tip top of the Rockefeller Centre, poised to take my parting shots of a beautiful NY skyline at sunset. Phew. I’m still tired.
I will be slowly unpacking all the great stories and places I visited over the coming weeks in upcoming blog posts, but I thought I’d post a fun shot today to get The New York Stories series going. I took the shot above of “Lady Liberty” in Battery Park just before getting on the Staten Island Ferry. Love the fab shades!
Enjoy your Saturday!
